Vines and Creepers

Vines and Creepers

This obelisk is part of Therry 'Sergeant T' van der Burgt's Temple City terrain and uses dried herbs for the creeping plants.
It's actually parsley, which is green when you buy it but tends to fade quickly so I soaked it in green paint and spread it out on a newspaper to avoid it drying in clumps.
Therry then attached it to the obelisk with PVA glue in the same manner as attaching flock/static grass. Since bits of the herbs stick out more than flock or static grass, and are less flexible, the result is more susceptible to damage... but it looks good.
There are of course various other ways in which similar effects can be achieved including the use of photo-etched plants or products such as Woodland Scenics 'Foliage'. If you have photos and/or details of other methods then we would be intersted in hearing about them.
